1828 - The famous French writer Jules Verne is born

He wrote almost eighty adventure novels. He is considered to be the father of science fiction and has enjoyed great prestige to date. The underlying subject in this work is combat: among men, between men and nature, or among men for their ideals. Even though his stories are characterized by exoticism and fantasy, they were based on careful reading of the scientific discoveries of his time and many of them are closely related to 19th-Century scientific discoveries. Jules Verne may be regarded as one of those responsible for the interest the public of his time took in scientific findings and for the many movies on this subject that are made nowadays.
