Vertebrados Fósiles del Caribe y Cuba
Las investigaciones paleontológicas han arrojado informaciones importantes sobre los taxones de vertebrados que poblaron tanto las aguas como las tierras del Caribe en el pasado. También sobre la distribución de estos organismos, y cuándo poblaron el Caribe y las Antillas. En otras palabras, han permitido elaborar una serie de hipótesis sobre el origen, evolución, extinción y supervivencia de las biotas marinas y terrestres. La mayor parte de estos resultados han sido publicados en revistas científicas (ver listado de publicaciones). En esta sección se ofrecen, de manera simplificada, algunas novedades sobre el estudio de los vertebrados fósiles del Caribe y Cuba. La información sobre el origen y distribución de los vertebrados extintos de Cuba está disponible en Biogeografía.
